Day Four: Arriving in Olympia WA!

So after four days, 7 states, and over 39 hours of driving we arrived in Olympia!  The next two days were spend searching for an apartment and and getting used to our new city.  We found some good places, and some really not good places.  But finally settled on a brand new condo in Puyallup!  I would say stay tuned for pics my my card got corrupted and I lost over 1200 pics.  :(  It was a sad day for all of us in the Nguyen family.  After spending the night in Seattle we are now heading for our much needed and long over due honeymoon.  So signing off for the next 7 days!  See you on the flip side with hopefully lots of pics from my new memory card :)

Day Three: Portland OR

Starting our journey in Salt Lake City UT and ending in Portland means we drove over 800 miles through Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.  The country side was AMAZING!!!  Even more beautiful than yesterday.  Tall pine trees in mountains with rivers flowing through the valleys.  We were in awe of the sights of today.

**Fun fact... in the state of Oregon you are not legally allowed to pump your own gas, an attendant has to do it for you.  I had no idea and that was the first time some stranger has ever pumped gas into my car.  She also cleaned off our windshield :)  It was a very new experience to say the least.

Now we are exhausted and ready for bed before we keep on truckin' to Olympia WA tomorrow to look for our new home!!!!  Can't wait to see the different places and get our new addy so we won't be nomads anymore :)  Goodnight everyone!

Day Two! Salt Lake City

We spent the night last night in Albq NM... well, after a restful night and a free breakfast of fruit and bagels, we got back on the road heading for Salt Lake City UT.  Found a really cute little mom/pop diner in Bloomfield NM.  I got the special which is my favorite meal... spaghetti :)

After NM we entered into Colorado where we traveled up and down the mountains for hours.... pics to come soon ;)  The mountains kept getting larger and larger as we entered into UT, and i have to say they are beautiful!  The snow on the tops and the green on the bottoms.... beautiful.  I took over 100 pics of mountains today, so i'll post some after we get settled.

After arriving in SLC, we sought out dinner at a special diner I had read about online...

http://www.ruthsdiner.com/

There I had the BEST vegan burger I have ever had!!!!  Diep said it was even better than his burger! :)  After dinner we arrived at the hotel, took a quick swim and now it is time for bed!!  So goodnight for now and tomorrow we change yet another time zone and head to Oregon :)

Moving and Day one on the Road

So I will not have much time on the computer now that we are officially homeless and on the road moving from Austin to Olympia :)  But I wanted to make sure and write everyday and keep you all posted on how things are going.  Yesterday (Friday) we arrived back in Texas after a trip to Kentucky to visit my family.  The 18 hour/1200 mile drive got us home at around 8 am and the movers showed up at 5:30 pm.  After much packing and heavy lifting our small 2 bed apartment was in a truck and ready to go :)  This was our last night in Texas!!!  I will miss our friends and our church family in Cedar Park, and will keep all of you in my prayers.  We love you all!!!  Thank you so much for all of your love, support, and prayers in our lives!

This morning we woke up and started our journey out right.... with a bowl of Pho before we left Cedar Park ;)  hehe.  We made it to Lubbock by lunch and one traffic ticket later (received by my lead footed husband) we arrived in Albq NM.  Here we are staying for the night after 12 hours worth of driving today.

It was strange today to see the different landscapes in those 12 hours.... we had energy wind farms (pics to follow), plains, ranches, hills, and small mountains once we got closer to Albq.  I wish we could make this trip in 2 weeks instead of three days.  I would be stopping and taking pictures of everything.  But alas we are on a time schedule so I have to resort to pics through my window.  Well it is now 1am we have to wake up at 7 for our next leg of our move to Salt Lake City.  Please keep us in your prayers for traveler's mercy.  And I'll write again tomorrow!!!!!!!!  Good night :)
